本案從英倫住宅的經典秩序出發，將對稱、比例、垂直線性與材質層次重新編排，轉化為一套屬於當代住宅的空間語彙。

客廳以壁爐建立核心構圖，藍灰色調、線板與人字拼木地板形成冷暖並置的材質關係。自然光透過白紗進入室內，使木質表面的紋理與細部線條隨時間產生微妙變化；壁爐則以垂直比例穩定整體尺度，延續英倫住宅特有的古典構成。

玄關則以更鮮明的幾何語彙轉換空間節奏。黑白石材透過精確分割建立入口秩序，上方黑鏡將吊燈與垂直線條向上延伸，使天花、立面與倒影彼此疊合。原本平面的幾何構圖因此產生縱深，亦將 Townhouse 的古典比例轉化為更當代的空間表情。

設計刻意維持材質之間的張力：石材的冷冽、木質的溫潤、鏡面的反射，以及線板與金屬細節的精準收束，共同構成空間的層次。

Afternoon in Bloomsbury 並非對英倫風格的複製，而是一次對經典建築語彙的重新編譯，在保留其秩序與比例的同時，以當代材質與生活尺度，建立新的住宅表情。

Drawing inspiration from the classic order of British residences, this project reinterprets symmetry, proportion, vertical linearity, and material layering into a tailored spatial language for contemporary living.

The living room establishes its core composition around a focal fireplace, where blue-gray tones, delicate moldings, and chevron wood flooring create a balanced dialogue between cool and warm textures. Soft light filtering through sheer curtains brings out the subtle grain of the wood and intricate detail lines throughout the day. Meanwhile, the fireplace anchors the room with its strong vertical proportions, carrying forward the distinct classical spatial order of traditional British homes.

At the entryway, a bolder geometric language shifts the spatial rhythm. Black-and-white stone is precisely segmented to establish a structured arrival sequence, while an overhead black mirror draws the eye upward, visually extending the chandelier and vertical lines. This creates an interplay between ceiling, vertical surfaces, and reflections—transforming a flat geometric composition into a sense of depth, and reinterpreting the classic proportions of a townhouse into a contemporary spatial expression.

The design intentionally maintains a tactile tension among materials: the cool precision of stone, the warmth of wood, the reflectivity of mirrored glass, and the meticulous joinery of moldings and metallic accents together forge a rich, multi-layered atmosphere.

Afternoon in Bloomsbury is not a mere replica of British style, but a refined reinterpretation of classic architectural vernacular. While honoring traditional order and proportion, it seamlessly integrates contemporary materials and residential scales to define a new spatial identity.
