Auroral Gradient
Light in this project is not merely an illumination added onto a space, but an integral design element that actively shapes its spatial composition.
The residence establishes a crisp framework through clean, modern lines, introducing curved surfaces into an otherwise rational geometric structure. The interplay of straight lines and curves transforms walls, ceilings, and corners from flat planes into fluid spatial interfaces—making the curve not just a stylistic motif, but a medium that guides and redirects the flow of light.
Warm light is concealed within the ceilings and vertical planes, diffusing softly along corners and material transitions rather than appearing as distinct fixtures. Light and shadow cease to be simple lighting outcomes; instead, they serve as spatial tools that define scale and enhance depth. As light transitions from concentration to soft dispersion, the crisp geometric boundaries undergo a subtle shift.
This design strategy extends seamlessly from public to private realms. The public areas maintain an open scale and a pronounced linear structure; upon entering the private sphere, the light, materials, and curves layer into finer nuances, allowing the same design language to evoke distinct spatial expressions across different living contexts.
Auroral Gradient explores the continuous dialogue between light and space. As light unfolds along curves, corners, and material interfaces, the residence is no longer defined by fixed forms, but rather reveals a fluid, contemporary living experience through the dynamic interplay of light and shade, solid and void, and evolving scales.
